On the Way to North Arabian Sea

7/10/1987 Missouri under way along with the cruisers Long Beach and Bunker Hill and destroyers, in the southern California operating area while participating in READIEX 87-5.
7/25/1987 Missouri en route to the Philippine Islands as part of Task Group 30.7, which also included cruisers Long Beach and Bunker Hill, oiler Kansas City, and destroyers. During the transit, Missouri participated in training exercises in the vicinity of Hawaii and Guam.
8/16/1987 Missouri moored at the Subic Bay Naval Station.
8/21/1987 Missouri en route to the North Arabian Sea as part of Task Group 70.10, which also included the cruisers Long Beach and Bunker Hill, oiler Kansas City and destroyers. The Missouri joined exercises in the vicinity of Singapore and then transited the Strait of Malacca on August 25-26.
10/6/1987 Missouri under way in the North Arabian Sea in support of Operation Earnest Will with the USS Ranger battle group (Task Group 800.1) until Ranger’s departure on November 14.
